When we left for the airport
all we could think of
was going home
then the flights were canceled
and the planes delayed
and we had to stay one more day
by the time we got home
snuggled in a strange bed
we realized we were far from home
a day in-between
had shown us what we had
and where we wanted to be
we couldn’t wait to get back home
