Starving Artists’ Writing Workshops Over … For Now

The last of the Starving Artists’ Writing Workshops finished up today. They were open to essays, poems, and stories. The first meeting we saw half stories and half essays. From there on out, the essays ruled the day. Maren Anderson’s intro workshop was particularly helpful. I saw some revised intros this week that were much more compelling, and I also got quite a few ideas for myself!

Next term we will be bringing in some non-fiction writers to speak to the Starving Artists. Stay tuned!

Glad it went OK. Looking forward to hear the future results.

As I looked out the window tonight, it was not pitch dark – making me wonder if the time change had made it lighter at midnight while we await a selection of a new Pope. Christ is the light of the world and maybe the Holy Spirit is brightening up the night so the right Cardinal will be chosen at a hazy time in the faith of the Church. Let us hope and pray so. Here’s to tradition, renewal, tolerance, and light.
