She nods.
A lot.
Can you guys think of other ways to express agreement?

Does she speak?
“Uh huh.” “Ah, yes,” “I see.” “Yes.” “That’s right.” “Oh, yeah.”
Also, does she only nod once? Or does her head bobble like a spring-loaded doll?
Can she grab the speaker’s hand and press it passionately?
What is she agreeing to? “Amen!” “Hallelujah!” “I guess, if you think it’s okay.”
Does she NOT nod sometimes? Does that blank mean something?
Does that help?

Helps so much! I know we raised this in class, but once I got to the actual edits…I like the affirmative and quick action of the nod, you know?
I wonder if I could sneak a Hallelujah in there!
I do love the idea of NOT nodding. Great suggestion. I think that would really say something too.
It was not the nod of the head. It was the look in his eyes, the expression on his face, the pat on the back that said “yes”, it was OK. Maybe this time, maybe always, maybe never ever again.
Poetic imagination – that’s what the priest said today during Mass when he was giving his homily and I thought of my poet daughter. Miss ya. Dad
