“Take some more tea,” the March Hare said to Alice, very earnestly.
“I’ve had nothing yet,” Alice replied in an offended tone, “so I can’t take more.”
“You mean you can’t take less,” said the Hatter: “it’s very easy to take more than nothing.”
“Nobody asked your opinion,” said Alice.”
― Lewis Carroll, Alice in Wonderland
Luckily, I’ve had lots of tea to fuel my third novel — or at least enough to finish the first draft. It is far from perfect, but it is on the page, which is in itself a success. I’ll take a rest from it to let it percolate, then steep myself back in it during the month of June (too many tea metaphors? Never!).
June will be a month of editing. I’m looking forward to making the novel Powell’s-worthy (that’s the noblest goal one can have).
